I don't know what can i say about this film. It was lovely but, i didn't get most of the references. I really liked the cast and especially the Parents. The parents were Gold! Lovely film. Charlie did it again. It's funny you mention films that you know you need to see but never got around to and then mentioned Eternal Sunshine, thats one of those movies for me (okay I saw it once but I fell asleep so it doesn't count. But I never took it as Jake being able to read her mind, only because he asks her multiple times what she's thinking, and even prods when she deflects the question. I know on a higher level that he can obviously read her mind because she's not a real person. I definitely think this is a better movie to discuss than it was to watch (after the ice cream shop it kinda lost me. Also loved the style changing in this video.

This popped in my subscriptions, when I pause THIS VERY MOVIE to make some tea. This is spooky. I like the production of the review and you point of view. Keep going. By far the best overview of this film that Ive seen, and Ive watched a lot of them already. I was initially disappointed that Kaufman veered so far away from the novels ending, but upon further reflection, if he had used the books ending – which is, to put it mildly: pretty fucking violent despite resulting in the same suicidal outcome for Jake aka the Janitor – then the entire part of the film preceding the final act of Jake killing himself wouldve felt very scattershot in terms of tone & atmosphere. Kaufmans adaptation (shut up, I know theres a pun there, we all get it) of the novel ended up being one of the most focused films Ive seen in quite a bit. Youve got to appreciate that, as well as the million other meta-references and layered commentaries sprinkled throughout this stale-Yule log of a movie lol.

In this scene is where I realized I was looking at a work of art. I could've sworn I've seen the hanging munchin before and it didn't look like no bird like in this vid. When they revamped Wizard of Oz they fixed the hanging munchkin and added in the bird. If you find a clip from the original you'll see theres clear difference between the original and the remastered. WHATS THIS SONGGGG. Oh, how wrong I was about this movie😅expecting just the spooky stuff- I' m gonna blame the trailer for that haha (and the fact that I didn't taken into consideration the director previous work)🙈🤦‍♀️ it's a story to be experienced-favorite part of the review. and yeah, usually I'm not a fan of this approach but for Kaufman s films, I think that this is the best approach. After the credits rolled, I found myself feeling melancholic and then full of hope (for some reason) was my experience with the movie, I really enjoyed it!💙 Also I appreciate the stuff happening in the video, and the parallel between Ionesco's absurd and Buñuel's. Love theatre and I find myself resonating with Ionesco's absurd, especially in The Lesson. Thanks for another enjoyable and informative review!✌🌼.

The creepy grinning Librarian was, IMO, the scariest scene in IT: Chapter 1. In your face CGI and loud musical stingers can't hold a candle to subtle, unsettling moments like that. In Carrie 2013 in the alternative ending theres a spilt second scene were Carrie is holding Sues baby. This movie and this scene will linger with me for a long time. I did kinda figure out that the janitor was Jake but I had to read someone's explanation to fully understand this film. I think this film is both beautiful and sad. Beautiful because it showed the power of hope, the solace of escapist fantasies and the yearning for every human to feel love and importance. Sad because life doesn't always work that way. As a kid life is simple and you have a lot of hopes and dreams. But as an adult you realize that there are a lot of factors out of your control, a lot of things within yourself that you have problems overcoming and overall not everyone unfortunately gets to live a good life. This is a hard, cold fact. Still, every human being has the ability to dream and wish for happiness. I just hope that even if as a fantasy, the janitor found some happiness because every human deserves that.

That scene in Cloverfield isn't just any carnival. It's Deno's Wonder Wheel at Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY. Lovely film, this was. Had some Lynchian vibes to it, in my opinion. Especially during the dinner scene. Like a mixture of Eternal Sunshine with some Eraserhead. Some of these are old so low quality, you should zoom and/or circle what you want us to see.

I would recommend Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune and Beau soir by Debussy to anyone who's looking for similar music until they release the soundtrack. Yeah the Emu really does look like a hanging human due to its long neck and the trees, but you can see it flap its wings. No worry needed. 🙃 (If you watch for it staring directly into the screen you can catch the movement. 👍🏻.
